HP Insight Control offers you offers four licensing options:
- Single-server license - license to enable manage a single server through Insight Control
- Flexible-quantity license - Flexible-quantity license kits are ways to obtain an exact quantity of licenses (minimum 5) with a single option kit and a single license key.
- Activation Key Agreement - This option provides the customer with the ability to order a key for the total quantity of licenses desired over a longer period of time, and then purchase licenses (a material-less SKU) for each node deployed as required.
- Electronic LTUs – This option provides the customers with the ability to purchase Insight Control licenses on the web with instant delivery option. Upon ordering an HP software product, an email is sent to you and/or your HP-certified reseller with instructions to get the license keys and download links

How do I extend my support contract following the first year of 24 x 7 Software Technical Support and Update Service? |

At the time of sale, customers are encouraged to extend their first year of 24 x 7 Software Technical Support and Update Service by purchasing 3, 4, and 5 year uplift Care Packs that will extend their term of support. Customers registered for Software Technical Support and Update Service with HP will be contacted prior to service contract expiration with a reminder to extend their service contract. Customers are encouraged to extend their contract, enabling continued Software Technical Support and access to software updates. |

I cannot find HP Insight Vulnerability and Patch Manager software on Insight Software DVD 6.0. Where can I find the software? |

HP Insight Vulnerability and Patch Management software (VPM) is phased out from HP Insight Control. Updated VPM software is not available on this Insight software DVD. The latest version of VPM (version 6.0) is available for download at:
https://h20392.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/try.do?productNumber=HPVPMP. The downloaded VPM 6.0 requires manual installation on the CMS. Customers are strongly recommended to start planning their discontinuation of VPM usage. |

Enter Content Here: The Insight Control ships with the Insight software update utility which facilitates identification of available updates. Run the utility within HP Systems Insight Manager and it will identify available updates and where they can be downloaded.
Customers must have a valid Software Technical Support and Update Service contract to download Insight Control updates for purchases made after July 9, 2007.

Yes. Customers can buy Insight Control standalone licenses (both single server and tracking licenses) electronically through limited channels. Customers will receive a license entitlement certificate via e-mail. The license entitlement certificate must be redeemed online at
www.webware.hp.com or via fax in order to obtain the license activation key(s). Electronic license part numbers are only available through limited points of sale; if not available through your usual sales path, you may order the equivalent physical part number. |

I used to buy HP Insight Virtual Machine Management software, HP Insight Server Migration software and/or HP Insight Power Management software. I cannot find these products any more. What happened? Where can I now buy these licenses? |

HP has decided to phase out standalone versions of HP Insight Virtual Machine Management software, HP Insight Server Migration software and HP Insight Power Management software and they will be only be available in the Insight Control and hence customers will have to buy Insight Control to get the features supported by these software tools. |

Insight Control for Microsoft System Center is the name we use to indicate an Insight Control installation complete with the Insight Control extensions for Microsoft System Center. Customers who are using System Center in their environment should still buy Insight Control ans use these extensions to optimize the management of HP ProLiant servers. Similarly, Insight Control for VMware vCenter Server the name we use to indicate an Insight Control installation complete with the Insight Control extensions for VMware vCenter Server. |

Electronic Software Delivery (eSD) provides delivery of software without physical license key or media shipments. Upon ordering an HP software product, an email is sent to you and/or your HP-certified reseller with instructions to get the license keys and download links. |
